The Idea
This story was inspired by the creativity and playful energy of the ENTP personality. ENTPs are known for coming up with big, bold ideas often without worrying too much about the details. The concept of a “popcorn vending machine that tells jokes” reflects this perfectly. It’s practical yet totally quirky, combining the unexpected with innovation, just like an ENTP would.
The goal was to show their excitement for turning every thought into a potential groundbreaking idea, no matter how wild it seems. The comic highlights their tendency to jump from one idea to the next, leaving others either confused or amused. For example, a simple “drone delivery” idea quickly morphs into something entirely different, showcasing their love for endless possibilities and humor.
In the end, this story is a fun look into the ENTP’s mind, where no idea is too silly, and every moment sparks something new.
The Script
The comic is divided into four distinct panels:
- “Discussion & brainstorming” part
- Visual: The character is talking with the NPC about his idea
- Dialogue: NPC: what do you wanna talk about?, MC: I got this genius revolutionary idea
- Explaining the Idea
- Visual: The character explain his ideas, full of enthusiasm, while the NPC respond quietly with uncertainty
- Dialogue: Imagine his: Drones delivering popcorn Midnight craving?? Popcorn will land in your hands in a minute, NPC: That’s…great??
- Realization Sets In and New Idea
- Visual: The character re-thinking about his decision, with paper scatter, half finished drone on the table, then happily and excitedly find a new idea
- Dialogue: maybe the drone idea is too much. I know, a joking popcorn vending machine!
- Discussing the New Idea
- Visual: The character introduce the new idea excitedly, the NPC facepalm
- Dialogue: No dialogue from the MC, NPC: haha
The Process
- Borders and Panels
Since I already made a 4 panels comic before, I re-used the borders and panels. I set the borders and panels in PNG transparent from the previous comic.

- Rough Sketch
Same as before, I started with a rough composition to outline the overall layout, poses, panel order, and placement of the dialogue balloons.

- Detailed Sketch
I placed some dialogue balloons and text first before heading to the lineart process. It helps me to see if the expression match with the dialogue.

- Lineart
In this process I made a clean lineart without any adjustment.

- Base Coloring
I started by applying flat colors to each panel and organizing the layers into separate folders for better management.

- Shading
I focused on lighting and shadows to make the expressions and atmosphere more dynamic. It is difficult to shade the background and foreground (especially the drone).

- Final Adjustments and Effect
For the final adjustments, I add a sweatdrop and those purple thingy to give more emotion to the character. I also add some move effects to the head of the character. Lastly, I realized that the dialogue balloon can be better for the dialogue in the third panel, so I changed it from round to a more bubbly balloon.
